Adopt-a-Pig Program
This has become a popular program.  We sell you a 6 week old pig that was born here on our farm. We will raise it for the next 5-6 months until is is at market weight and ready to be processed at your butcher.  We will deliver it free of charge. We ask for a monthly payment to help with care and feeding costs and you would be responsible for your butcher's costs.  We ususally have litters all throughout the year.  I will be updating the exact costs , as feed costs have increased recently by huge amounts. We try to keep your overall cost (butcher included) to $2.85 to $3.15 per pound.  We also have pigs for pig roasts from time to time, but we need to know ahead of time to hold them for you.  If you need one, please call Blaine asap to reserve one. He can be reached at 814 450 4811.
Our pigs are not given any growth hormones and only fed local feed we purchase from the Erie Crawford County Co-op in Union City. **okay...yes they sometimes get leftovers in the fall from our garden...and they LOVE it !!
Adopt-a-Cow
This program is only about a year old now.  We are currently "tweeking" it a bit.  We offer basically the same program as with pigs, but a different level.  You decide what size steer you want for you freezer (lbs of beef) and you have a total amount to make payments on.  The price per pound is about $1.25, which you pay to Blaine.  You then settle up with your butcher when the time comes.  You can share animals with family or friends if your freezer space is limited.  We have a list of butchers in the area, if you are unsure of who to use.  Pigs take 6 months to raise to market weight.  Steers, on the other hand, take 18 to 24 months.  We have Hereford, Black Angus, and we will be having Scottish Highland beef (we just purchased 2 yearling heifers which we will be breeding next year).

**We do process animals for the store from time to time so depending on what is ready in the barn, we may have cuts of pork or beef or even lamb in the freezer in the store.
